Postdoctoral Associate, Hybrid Systems
|Class Title||Postdoctoral Associate, Hybrid Systems|
|Administrative Title||No Administrative Function|
The Hybrid Systems Laboratory is seeking a motivated individual interested in developing new functional in vitro systems for use in drug discovery and toxicity, especially someone interested in translating the basic systems into validated assays. This postdoctoral research opportunity focuses on combining microfabrication and cell culture to construct in vitro models of the human body or “Body-on-a-Chip” for use in drug development. Multiple organs and their physiological interactions are represented on a single device; these interactions are based on physiologically-based pharmacokinetic models.
This is an opportunity to join a dynamic center at the cutting edge of nanoscience technology, working with the head of the Hybrid Systems Lab (see http://www.nanoscience.ucf.edu/faculty_hickman.php).
|Position Minimum Qualifications||
A Ph.D. from an accredited institution in biomedical engineering/material science or related fields.
This is a joint project between the laboratories of J. Hickman (UCF) and Mike Shuler (Cornell). The postdoctoral associate may spend some time at Cornell, but will spend the majority of time at UCF.
