Job Description

Develop and instruct various courses at the undergraduate and master’s level in the Bachelor of Science in Event Management degree program, Master of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management degree program, and for the Graduate Certificate in Event Management program in one or more of the following event management specialized areas: the event industry; event promotion; event services; event sales; event management; event technology; catering sales management; hospitality and event risk management; meeting management; exhibit and trade show operations; entertainment arts and events; fairs and festivals; international events; advanced trade show management; and/or club event operations. The selected candidate will also be expected to conduct research and actively publish in appropriate scholarly journals in the area of events, and participate in university, college and department committees, as well as maintain liaisons with appropriate professional groups and industry partners.

Position Minimum Qualifications

An earned Ph.D. from an accredited institution at the time of appointment, with at least one degree in the area of hospitality/tourism management, marketing, event management or a related field.
