Job Description

Formulates and defines system scope and objectives based on user-defined needs.

Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written or modified.

Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.
Has full technical knowledge of all phases of enterprise messaging and Microsoft applications.

Architects, implements and maintains integrity of the Unified Communications core hardware and software.

Planning and scheduling, testing and coordination with all systems related to Unified Communications and Microsoft Applications.

Evaluates and designs application architectures, security and enterprise level application delivery.

Prepares proposals, cost/benefit analyses, and feasibility studies on current and emerging applications both on premise and in the cloud.

Responsible for the application coordination of and planning for the organization’s IT architecture for Microsoft Office 365 projects, system core installations/upgrades and enterprise level application system changes.

Responsible for researching, planning, budgeting, execution, and maintenance tasks associated with Microsoft Office 365 systems and unified communications systems (specifically Microsoft Skype for Business).

Work with customers to assess needs and lead research and development efforts (proofs of concept, pilots), as the subject matter expert, when introducing new Microsoft technologies and services.

Develops, implements and maintains technical standards, best practices, procedures, roadmaps including build guides, technical diagrams and test plans for the On-Prem and Cloud Microsoft collaboration suite.

Work closely with Tier 1 Support desk on all Microsoft Office application implementations and customer requirements.

Maintain all back end enterprise level applications servers or connections.

Complete plans and evaluations of complex systems and make recommendations for resources required to maintain and/or expand service levels.

Requires collaborative efforts within UCF IT to assess and evaluate current and future needs with product applications.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and three years of information technology experience.

Additional Minimum Requirements
Preferences

Problem solving skills for all messaging servers and workstations essential.

Strong PC/LAN communications hardware and software management experience.

Special Conditions

This position is open to current UCF employees only.

This position must be available 24/7 in case of an emergency. This person may be asked to work during an emergency situation or other shifts that possibly include weekends, holidays and/or university closures such as a hurricane or weather-related event.

Telecommunications is considered a ‘mission critical’ component to UCF’s operations. This position may be an effective member of the UCF emergency team and COOP.

This position is a position of trust for CS&T. Manages vital information systems and data for the University of Central Florida
