Job Description

The Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a postdoctoral associate position. Applicants are expected to have expertise in network science (broadly defined); although mathematical modeling and optimization aspects of network science will be emphasized. In addition, the ability to work with network robustness/resilience metrics, as well as with network-based models in dynamic and data-driven settings, is desirable. The position is funded by a research award from the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in Eglin Air Force Base. The initial appointment is expected to be for 1 year, contingent on availability of research funding. The appointment may be renewed beyond the initial period, contingent on performance and funding availability. The selected candidate will be expected to travel and interact with AFRL researchers as a part of the position responsibilities.

Position Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. from an accredited institution in Industrial/Systems Engineering or a related discipline at the time of appointment.


Proven record of publications as the lead author in high-quality peer-reviewed outlets.
