Job Description

The position is responsible for the maintenance and care of simulators and related equipment in the simulation lab, and assisting in the achievement of each simulation events primary objectives.
-Assist end users with hardware and software problems and questions related to all simulation equipment and infrastructure (e.g., A/V system, software, computers).
-Ensure that all equipment is working prior to the daily simulation experiences.
-Provide real-time technical support for set up and troubleshooting during the simulation experiences.
-Maintain equipment according to warranty standards and requirements.
-Provide technical support in the operation of all the simulation technology in the lab: Gaumard, Laerdal, CAE, Vita SIM.
-Establish equipment and inventory control process.
-Establish ongoing maintenance process (e.g., making sure limbs are attached, task trainers are in good working order, and batteries are changed out).
-Maintain and update human patient simulators; assist faculty with trouble shooting, and resolution of problems.
-Complete end of the semester checks of all the simulation equipment.
-Prepare simulated experiences per faculty specifications (“staging”): may include insertion of intravenous catheters, Foley catheters, nasogastric tubes, create urine and blood, create charts, patient identifiers, moulage, costuming, and prop replacement.
-Break down simulation in a timely fashion, in advance of next day simulations; clean simulators, remove and store props, purge lines with distilled water.
-Identify equipment needs to offer simulation experiences across programs.
-Install hardware and software.
-Troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
-Coordinate reconnection to networks for end users.
-Train end users in the use of new hardware and software.
-May perform or assist in other information technology functions.
-Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and one year of information technology experience.

Additional Minimum Requirements
Preferences

-Proficiency with Laderal, Gaumard and CAE patient simulators, software and hardware.
-Proficiency in the use of audio/visual equipment (video cameras [Gopro, KBPort, Replay], monitors, microphones), including recording, duplication and editing.
-Proficiency with PC applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, and MAC applications.
-Detail Oriented
-Team-oriented
-Creativity a must
-Certified Healthcare Simulations Operations Specialist.
-5 years related work experience.
