Job Description

The College of Business at the University of Central Florida (UC) seeks an accomplished business education professional with a track record of implementing large scale-change in the student experience. The college is home to 8,500 undergraduate students and is in the process of transforming its core curriculum to provide a more engaging, competency-based experience at scale. Given the strategic importance of this initiative, the chief learning officer will report directly to the dean.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead the effort to define, develop and refine a blended, problem-based undergraduate core curriculum at scale that will lead to mastery of program competencies. This work will include determining the balance between and integration of collaborative and individual learning, face-to-face and technology-assisted learning, and experiential and academic instruction.

Oversee, coordinate, and evaluate the college’s undergraduate core faculty to ensure a consistent, coherent student experience that encourages the development of successful mindsets and enhances post-graduation success.

Oversee the continuing development and refinement of key competencies that will inform the core curriculum.

Oversee the college’s assurance of learning program.

Position Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in business, education or related field from an accredited institution.

Ten (10) plus years of experience working with university students in co-curricular, extra-curricular and/or academic services roles.

A track record of successful implementation of large-scale changes in the student experience.


Ph.D. in business, education or related field from an accredited institution.

Undergraduate or graduate degree in a business discipline

Experience working in an AACSB-accredited business school with broad range of undergraduate or graduate programs.

Experience in the development and management of professional development programs including mentor programs, internships, and job placement.

Proven track-record in developing corporate partnerships including internships, job placement, program sponsorships, and fundraising.
