Job Description

Responsible for providing competent medical care and prevention education to all patients to foster recovery from acute illness, prevent avoidable medical problems and sustain and support those with chronic illness or challenged bodies. This includes, but is not limited to, diagnosis, treatment, and minor surgical procedures.

Develop appropriate medical records and correspondence with appropriate peers, university officials and consultants, as needed.

Monitor compliance to legal guidelines, internal policies and quality standards.
Assist in the development of agency policies, procedures and long range planning.

Responsible for organizing and establishing a curriculum for clinical staff CME to assist them in staying up to date on the latest developments in the dynamic field of College Health. Will arrange frequent medical specialty presentations at SHS, as well as provider presentations at the monthly Provider staff meeting.

Coordinate and supervise designated staff.

Oversee department operational issues.

Participate in appropriate committees as recommended by the Associate Director of Clinical Services.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida plus two years of clinical experience as an M.D., one of which must have been in a student health service or a comparable health care agency.

Preferences

Electronic health record (EHR); experience with changes, developments, providing expertise in messaging, two-way patient information and communication web portal.

International Health; provide travel related education, culturally sensitive health care, and support the wellness of student traveling abroad and international students.

Able to travel locally as needed.
