Job Description

The University of Central Florida (UCF) has established several interdisciplinary clusters to strengthen its academic offerings and research mission. In support of this effort, we are recruiting faculty in the broad area of disability, aging, and technology and plan to hire one tenure-track assistant professor with expertise in health policy research for this cluster. This position has an anticipated start date of August 8, 2018.

The Disability, Aging and Technology cluster is a partnership among six colleges/units: the Colleges of Health and Public Affairs, Nursing, Sciences, Engineering and Computer Science, Hospitality Management, and the Nanoscience Technology Center at UCF. The cluster’s goal is transdisciplinary engagement in research and education to link health and wellness interventions with technology applications so that effective and feasible health, behavioral health interventions, and assistive technologies can be used with diverse populations.

We seek a health policy researcher with strong potential to secure external funding; experience in aging, disability, or technology health policy research; and skills in quantitative methods and policy analysis. A record of working with interdisciplinary teams is highly desired.

The successful candidate will be expected to strengthen both the cluster and their chosen tenure home department. The planned tenure home for this position will likely be in either the School of Social Work or the Department of Health Management and Informatics within the College of Health and Public Affairs. Cluster faculty are encouraged to seek joint appointments with other units. Examples of possible units for joint appointments for this position include, but are not limited to, the College of Nursing or the Department of Psychology in the College of Sciences.
