Job Description

CREOL, The College of Optics and Photonics at the University of Central Florida (UCF), invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in optical sensing and imaging.

The scope of this position includes: novel optical and laser technologies for sensing, imaging, and display; sensitive lidar systems; wearable devices for virtual and augmented reality applications; nonconventional photodetection systems; multisensory integration for monitoring and surveillance, and thermal and infrared imaging; and other novel areas of laser and optical systems.

Position Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. from an accredited institution in a closely related discipline and strong research experience with a record of scholarly publications in optical sensing and imaging.

The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain a high-quality, externally funded research program and to contribute to the educational programs of the college.

In order to obtain tenure, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research and service commensurate with rank.
