Job Description

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, anticipated to begin in August 2018, pending budgetary approval. Outstanding candidates in all areas of mathematics are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses, conduct a vigorous research program, pursue external funding, advise and mentor students, and participate in department and university governance.

Position Minimum Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field from an accredited institution at the time of application. Other qualifications include a high potential to attract external funding and effective communication skills in English.


Some postdoctoral experience is desirable.

Preference will be given to candidates with research interests that complement the existing faculty research expertise at UCF.

The successful applicant must demonstrate a strong record of excellence in both teaching and research.
