Job Description

The School of Performing Arts at the University of Central Florida (UCF) seeks an assistant professor of projection and lighting design or projection and scenery design.

Duties will include: teaching core design courses and other courses according to ability of applicant and needs of the department; collaborating with faculty, staff, and students; designing departmental productions and supervising student designers; curriculum development; student advising, assessment and recruiting. This position is part of the Design & Technology area, currently consisting of 13 faculty and staff.

Position Minimum Qualifications

Terminal degree in Theatre with an emphasis in design (M.F.A.) from an accredited institution. Significant professional projection design experience. Experience in a secondary design field.

Preferences

Teaching experience appropriate for B.F.A. training program. Professional lighting or scenic design experience. Experience in non-theatre settings (theme park/entertainment/architectural/industrial, etc).
