Job Description

Direct and manage the project management and business services for the Office of Research & Commercialization (ORC). Accountable for the success of ORC IT project governance, annual project work plan, and the strategic direction of enterprise level IT initiatives supporting research. Responsible for researching, advising and analyzing enterprise research administration business processes and practices to develop requirements for new and existing enterprise systems supporting the research community.

Accountable for creation of comprehensive project plans, encompassing both IT deliverables and business deliverables (Scope & Schedule) and communication throughout the project life cycle.

Directs the creation and collection of functional requirements, through the creation of use cases and process flows.

Advises business stakeholders and facilitates the development of Statement of Work (SOW) or Request for Proposal (RFP) for enterprise research IT projects.

Directs, develops and is responsible for creation of user workshops, gathering user feedback and user training. Develop and deliver presentations and associated materials for user acceptance, validation and training.

Communicates issues with the Director of Innovation and Technology and all levels of Senior Leadership and participates in multiple projects, as required, in the accomplishment of Office of Research Goals.

Work closely with third party consultants and representatives to ensure systems enhancements are coded correctly and issues are addressed and resolved.

Responsible to be subject matter expert in all Research Administration business processes and champion improvement, adoption, implementation, and execution of IT business processes supporting the Office of Research.

Interact with other ORC and University personnel to ensure effective communication, cooperation, and collaborations.

Provide other support to the Director of Innovation and Technology as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and five years of information technology experience.

Additional Minimum Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Interpersonal and relationship building skills. Previous project management experience preferred.
PMP certification a plus.
