Job Description

Responsible for the discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift prospects at the $25,000+ level or higher. This position will represent the entire range of University needs and priorities and will maintain a portfolio of prospects and donors with multiple special philanthropic interests or in assigned geographic regions. The incumbent will develop and implement a yearly strategic fundraising plan for each assignment with a goal of actively moving prospects forward in the giving process.

Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards gifts for all schools and priorities with an emphasis on gifts of $25,000+.

Manages a portfolio of major gift prospects/donors identified in priority areas and/or in assigned geographic regions.

Identifies new major gift prospects for all University areas and develops strategies for involvement and solicitation, including appropriate referrals to and/or collaboration with colleagues based in schools and units.

Oversees the development of the annual budget.

Maintains a comprehensive working knowledge of the University, fundraising priorities across the institution, and Advancement development objectives.

Maintains active communication with development officers and alumni engagement officers throughout the University to inform of scheduled prospect visits and coordinating prospect activity.

Develops travel schedule/travel plans to assigned geographic areas to provide appropriate coverage to meet fundraising goals, if applicable.

Participates in community, civic, and university activities to foster support for and involvement in development efforts

Acquires and maintains knowledge of and adhere to UCFF’s policies and procedures, business practices, prospect management systems, etc.

Completes additional assignments as may be required by the AVP-Regional Development & University Priorities, or other member of Advancement leadership as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience.

Additional Minimum Requirements
Preferences

Some regional and national travel/overnight travel.

Excellent interpersonal skills of active listening, conflict resolution, and leadership.

Demonstrates decisiveness and sound judgment in decision making and use of University resources.
