Job Description

Responsible for independently performing identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospects, with emphasis on prospects up to $100,000+.

Responsible for the supervision of College of Sciences Advancement team.

Manage assigned prospective donors effectively by:

Developing solicitation plans for each assigned prospective donor.

Refining solicitation plans as needed to assure effectiveness.

Planning contacts with assigned prospects.

Assessing need for volunteers and volunteer leaders to assist with cultivation and solicitation activities.

Recruiting, enlisting and training volunteers and volunteer leaders to assist in cultivation and solicitation activities

Conducting solicitations.

Preparing various reports relative to development plans and activities, and

Maintaining related records as required and
coordinating solicitation of prospects who are jointly assigned to other projects, regions, or schools.

Trains and mentors junior development staff in the college, area or department.

Establishes priorities for junior fundraising staff within the assigned college or area.

Responsible for the successful outcomes of supervised college or area based fundraising staff.

Analyzes geographic area and conduct research to identify prospective donors by:

Gathers and effectively utilizes information from University of Central Florida Foundation’s prospect management system.

Rates area prospects (individuals and groups) to identify fundraising potential.

Requests prospect assignments through the Prospect Management System.

Provides stewardship for prospects and donors.

Provides timely, consistent follow-up with requests for information and answers to inquiries.

Acquires and maintains knowledge of UCFF’s policies and procedures.

Participates in the development of strategy and procedures for donor research, evaluation, validation, and communications.

Assures knowledge of the most current fundraising techniques and trends and the appropriate application of them.

Researches, identifies and demonstrates how new approaches can be successfully incorporated and applied.

Actively participates in community, civic and university activities to foster support for and involvement in development efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience.

Should be able to communicate effectively.

Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, and handle the pressure of deadlines.

Should have managerial and interpersonal skills of negotiation, conflict resolution, active listening and team leadership.
