Job Description

Works closely with the Director for Advancement for Prospect Development, as well as other prospect development staff to provide professional prospect development research and information services in support of the fundraising goals and objectives of UCF Advancement. This role is responsible for prospect identification and research, as well as assisting with database screening initiatives, querying, reporting and analysis.

Develops and executes data analysis projects and fundraising segmentation strategies to support principal, major and annual gift fund programs utilizing donor database queries and other UCF Advancement resources.

Assists in goal-setting and long-term strategic planning for the acquisition, evaluation, qualification and implementation of electronic wealth screening, survey, and any other related data sets.

Conducts detailed biographical business and financial research on alumni, individuals, corporations and foundations
using subscription and on-line databases, in-house files, library references and other resources.

Assists in researching, developing, assigning and maintaining prospect ratings to support prospect pool identification.

Assists in managing the Prospect Research Request queue in UCF Advancement’s donor database and collaborates with information technology staff to develop and maintain prospect development reporting strategies through the donor database and Tableau platforms.

Responds to a broad spectrum of high priority and ad hoc research requests.

Assists in assigning prospect capacity ratings through the manual manipulation of vendor-generated scores.

Records and maintains demographic and biographical information in the donor database.

Creates narrative reports, profiles, prospect alerts, charts, graphs and other illustrations.

Consults with experts, colleagues, and consultants to acquire body of knowledge and best practices in data querying, reporting and analysis.

Works in partnership with the prospect development team, development officers, senior Foundation management and outside consultants to affect a coordinated approach to the prospect development process.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience.

Additional Minimum Requirements

Possess overall knowledge of fundraising and prospect development principles and methodologies; ability to prioritize and multi-task daily and long-term projects and assignments; ability to establish strong internal and external relationships.
