Job Description

The Health Sciences program at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a non-tenure earning position at the rank of instructor or lecturer to begin in Fall 2018. The Health Sciences program is currently located within the Department of Health Professions in the College of Health and Public Affairs. UCF is currently planning the academic structure for the UCF’s Academic Health Sciences Center. As part of this structure, Health Sciences will be part of the newly formed Department of Population Health Sciences within the College of Medicine.

The successful candidate will be expected to focus on high quality course delivery and student learning and engagement methods. Assignment will include teaching, service, and participation in other appropriate internal activities that contribute to the advancement of the program and the department. The normal teaching load for this position is four classes each fall semester and four classes each spring semester.

Position Minimum Qualifications

For instructor rank, a master’s degree in a health sciences-related discipline from an accredited institution.

For lecturer rank, an academic doctoral degree in a health sciences related discipline from an accredited institution.

All candidates must possess a minimum of one year of teaching experience in health sciences and experience teaching face-to-face courses in areas of the health sciences.


Candidates with an academic doctoral degree in a health sciences related discipline from an accredited institution; at least two years of experience teaching in a large and diverse academic program within a university setting; experience with topics related to population health research; experience teaching in online and mixed method formats; and those with evidence of continuous professional development.
