Job Description

The Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure-track assistant professor or tenured associate professor specializing in Accounting, Finance, and Theme Park and Attractions in the hospitality industry field, to begin in August 2018.

All faculty members are expected to have the ability to work effectively in a collegial environment with faculty, staff, and students, and with individuals and groups from a variety of identities, cultures, backgrounds, and ideologies. All faculty members are also expected to teach, conduct and actively publish peer-reviewed scholarly research, as well as participate in professional and university service. Faculty members are expected to develop connections with industry professionals and to continuously update their expertise through industry partnership and scholarly activities. Faculty members are also expected to advise graduate and undergraduate students and student groups, and to participate in school and university service activities.

The Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida has been ranked No. 2 in the world as a hospitality and hotel management school, according to CEOWORLD Magazine. In 2015, Rosen College ranked No.5 on the magazine’s list of the 50 best hospitality and hotel management schools in the world. The jump up the scale is a significant accomplishment for Rosen College, which is the youngest institution of higher education among those ranked. With an enrollment of approximately 3,500 students, Rosen College offers six academic degrees, including the only bachelor’s degree in event management in the United States and the only doctoral program specifically in hospitality management in Florida. Position Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D., by the time of appointment, from an accredited institution in Hospitality Management or a related field.

Applicants must have teaching and professional experience in the field of hospitality finance and/or accounting, as well as demonstrated commitment to intellectual contributions, and evidence of quality research and scholarly publications.

In order to obtain tenure, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research and service commensurate with rank.


More specifically, the successful candidate preferably possesses: A history of working with teams, especially teams that span multiple disciplines; related industry work experience in attractions and theme park operations; teaching experience at the college level; and published research in hospitality finance and accounting related to the intersection of theme park financial management, and financial analysis.
